Content Manager can be used for all types of documents accessible from Mac or PC, not only Scoop articles. Content Manager can run on any Windows server in the network, working in the background. For installations running an SQL server, using our SQL database, this program is called Content Manager SQL.
Operations
Content Manager handles functions like Move, Copy or Delete. Each of these functions is defined, as well as source and destination directories. This means that different directories can be managed in different ways.Specific conditions can be defined for each function, e.g., placement or non-placement, changes, etc. These can be defined in terms of hours, days, weeks, months or years. Constraints can also be placed on an article, e.g., that the function is only carried out on EPS files, etc.
List of tasks
A list of tasks (functions) is created, and the user defines when and how often this list is executed. This might be the exact time each day, a specific day each week, a specific date each month, etc.The list of functions is processed in desired order, and can easily be altered.
Customised functions
The functions are presented as text descriptions, and edited with common edit functions such as Cut, Copy and Paste. This simplifies the repetition of functions that affect several folders/directories. Functions can be copied so that all directories are edited.Manual operation
If a user wants to execute functions intermittently, they can be performed manually rather than predefining them.XML export
Content Manager can easily be used to produce XML-based web pages from the daily Scoop articles. By activating this option, XML versions of articles in selected folders are automatically generated. This XML export can easily be integrated with the CMS publishing system E-DRUM, or any standard web publishing system. Please ask us for information, installation examples and references.Sample files
From the links below you can download sample XML files from the same article. The first file is generated from Content Manager, illustrating how easy Scoop Edit articles can be forwarded to your web publishing system.
For your comparision, the second file pack is generated from the Scoop XML eXport plugin/XTension, illustrating how articles can be extracted from DTP, for e.g. archive systems (such as Scoop eLibrary, or a system of your choice) or electronic paper publishing (such as Scoop ePaper, or a ssytem of your choice).
Thus Scoop offers XML export of the same article on different stages of the production chain, adapting to your needs./
